Booking your birth

Prenatal Appointments

We'll start with a friendly consultation over FaceTime or a cup of coffee to discuss your vision for birth photography and/or doula services, your birth wishes, and what it is like working with me. I'll share a little about myself, the packages I offer, and how I'll support you every step of the way.

Once you're ready to book, I'll send over a contract and create a flexible payment plan that works for you. You'll also complete a detailed questionnaire to help understand your birth plans and preferences. Once you are booked, you'll recieve a welcome guide by email with all kinds of great information!

Before your birth, we’ll meet—either in person or over FaceTime—to connect and prepare. If I’m your doula, we’ll have two prenatal visits where we’ll create your birth preferences, explore comfort measures, practice breathing and positions, discuss partner support, and talk about advocacy in your birth space.

I'll join you during labor to document and support the beauty of your birth story. I'll stay up to two hours postpartum to capture those first precious moments and make sure you are settled in. Within 48 hours, you'll receive a sneak peek of your photos, and your full gallery will be ready within 2-4 weeks. If I am your doula, I will come visit for a postnatal appointment when you are ready!

Your Birth Day

Hey Mama, I've Been There....

The Woodlands Birth Doula & Photographer

You’ve just found out you’re pregnant (or maybe you’re a few months in) and suddenly, everyone has an opinion. Maybe this is not your first rodeo, and you want a birth that is different this time around.

Your social feed is filled with scary stories, conflicting advice, and endless “shoulds.” Your family means well, but they don’t quite understand the kind of birth you want. Friends tell you what they did, but none of it feels right for you.

You're not alone in feeling overwhelmed.

What you want is someone who will:
  • Gently guide you through the unknown
  • Educate you without pressure
  • Support your emotional well-being, not just your physical one
  • Help you make choices that feel right in your gut
  • Be there 24-7 to answer any questions from "What should I put in my hospital bag?" to "How can my partner best support me?"

That’s where I come in.

As your doula and birth photographer, I walk beside you—listening to your fears and questions, offering evidence-based support, and reminding you of your own strength. Whether you're planning a home birth, a hospital birth, or something in between, you deserve to feel informed, empowered, and never alone.

This is a transformative journey. You don’t have to figure it out by yourself.

  • 39% decrease in the risk of cesarean birth
  • 15% increase in the likelihood of a spontaneous vaginal birth
  • 10% decrease in the use of medications for pain relief
  • Shorter labors by an average of 41 minutes
  • Improved satisfaction with the birth experience
  • Lower risk of negative birth experiences
A birth doula is a trained support person who provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during labor and birth.

Unlike a nurse or doctor, I’m not focused on charts, machines, or clinical tasks. My focus is entirely on you & your partner— your comfort, your confidence, your voice, and your experience.

Think of a doula as your steady, informed, and encouraging guide. Someone who walks with you through one of the most intense and transformative experiences of your life, helping you feel seen, heard, and supported every step of the way.

Birth doesn’t always follow a plan, but you should always feel supported and empowered through it. That’s where I come in.

As your birth doula, I:

  • Meet with you during pregnancy to educate and guide you as you build your birth preferences, plan for the stages of labor, learn positioning and breathing, and work through any fears or concerns you might have
  • Help you prepare emotionally and mentally so you step into birth feeling grounded and capable
  • Provide reliable resources and evidence-based information about pregnancy, labor, postpartum, and beyond
  • Stay by your side through the entire labor offering continuous care and making sure you feel empowered, respected, and never alone
  • Offer hands-on comfort techniques during your birth such as massage, position changes, breathing support, and calming touch
  • Support your partner so they feel confident, calm, and included in the experience
  • Help you communicate clearly with your medical team and navigate birth settings with confidence
  • Hold space with no judgment and no agenda, offering a calm and grounded presence throughout your birth
  • Connect you with trusted local professionals including lactation consultants, pelvic floor therapists, chiropractors, postpartum doulas, and others who support your journey

What is a Doula?

What are the Benefits of Having a Doula?

Birth photography is so much more than taking pictures. It is the art of preserving a day that will change your life forever. As your birth photographer and doula in The Woodlands, I quietly and respectfully capture the moments that often slip by unnoticed: the quiet strength in your body, the loving touch of your partner, the first cry, the first breath, the tears, the triumph. These images help you process your birth story, especially when memories feel hazy or blurred from being deep in “labor land.” Birth is intense and sacred, and many parents forget entire stretches of it. Photography allows you to see what you couldn’t in the moment and helps you piece together your full story with clarity and meaning. It is also a gift to your family. Your partner can stay fully present with you, without the pressure of trying to capture photos or hold a camera during emotional moments. There is no scrambling for phones or worrying about missed shots. I take care of all of that for you.

Let's do this!

The Power of Birth Photography

Your birth is one of the most meaningful days of your life. It deserves to be honored and remembered, just like your wedding day. Maybe even more so. It is the day you meet the love of your life. I can tell you from personal experience, I look back at my own birth photos all the time. They remind me of my strength, my journey, and the powerful love that brought my baby into the world. That is what birth photography gives you. It is not just about having photos. It is about telling your story in a way that allows you to relive it, process it, and cherish it for the rest of your life.

Most of my clients hire me as both their doula and birth photographer, because it allows for one consistent and calming presence in the room instead of adding another person. I was professionally trained through Birth Becomes You as both a certified birth doula and certified birth photographer. Their training is designed specifically to teach how to blend these two roles with care and intention. I move fluidly between supporting you and documenting your story. I photograph with purpose in the in-between moments when you are resting, connecting, or finding your rhythm. And when your baby is being born and your provider is fully present with you, I am able to step back and capture those once-in-a-lifetime moments without disrupting your space.

Honoring Your Strength
 Documenting Your Story

Why should I hire a birth photographer? Can't I just use my smartphone?

Hiring a professional birth photographer allows you to relive the powerful, intimate moments of your birth, helping you process the experience and cherish the raw emotion and beauty that might otherwise be overlooked. A skilled photographer lets you and your partner focus on the experience while capturing the small details and significant moments that tell your unique story. These timeless images not only create lasting memories but also provide a legacy of love and strength to pass down to your child.

When do you arrive? How long do you stay?

If I am your Doula, I will join you when you feel you need support. I'll stay in communication with you throughout your labor to ensure I arrive at the right time, but the final decision is always yours—if you want me there, I’ll be there!

If I am your Birth Photographer only, I typically aim to arrive when you’re in active labor so I do not disturb you getting into the rhythms of labor. If you have decided to have cervical exams, I usually plan to be there around 5-6 centimeters. If you're not being checked, I'll come once you have a steady pattern of contractions.

What if you are sick, at another birth, or have an emergency?

Your birth matters deeply to me, and I do everything in my power to be there. However, in the rare case that I am unable to attend due to illness or an emergency, I have trusted, professional backups in place for both doula and photography support. I would immediately arrange for a qualified backup to step in so you are still fully supported and your story is beautifully documented. Even if a backup attends, I personally edit and deliver your birth gallery and continue to check in with you during postpartum. My clients are never left without care or coverage, and it is always my highest priority to be present for every birth I commit to.

What if I have a fast labor? What if you miss the birth?

Clear communication is essential! Reaching out to me as soon as you notice the first signs of labor helps me determine the best time to arrive at your birth space. If your baby comes quickly, don't worry—I will still be there to document the birth as it happens. A fast delivery is still an important part of your story, and I’m there to capture every moment, no matter how quickly things progress. Additionally, if anything is missed during a fast birth, I will arrive right away to capture the immediate postpartum. You will still recieve a full gallery of images and I can even come the day after to get more photos. Your story will be fully documented, no matter what!

What if I need to have a planned C-section or emergency C-section?

Throughout your pregnancy, we’ll stay in close communication to ensure I’m there when you need me most. If you have a scheduled c-section, I will be there to capture your story from start to finish—I’ll arrive with you to prepare, photograph the procedure (as long as hospital policy allows), and stay with you in recovery to document those first precious moments. In the event of an emergency c-section, access to the operating room may be restricted depending on the medical team, but I will still be there to capture every moment leading up to the birth, and remain with you afterward to document the intimate moments in recovery. Your gallery will include the full story of your journey, no matter what unfolds.

Do you share every birth on social media?

I’m passionate about capturing and sharing empowering birth images that challenge the way our culture views parenthood and the birth experience. These photos have the power to inspire and reshape perceptions of birth. That said, I fully respect and honor families who prefer to keep their birth images private. During our consultation, we’ll discuss your preferences and wishes for sharing or keeping your images confidential, and I will always ensure your privacy is respected and upheld.

Inviting someone into my birth space is a big decision. Can I meet you first?

Absolutely. I ask every family interested in hiring me as their doula and birth photographer to schedule a consultation. This gives us a chance to connect, talk through what you're looking for, and see if we're a good fit for one another. I’d love to hear your hopes for your birth, share more about how I support families, and answer any questions you have. We can meet over a video call or even grab a cup of coffee if you're local. Just fill out the contact form, and I’ll be in touch right away to set something up.
If you move forward with me as your birth photographer, we’ll also have a pre-birth meeting to go over your birth plan, photography preferences, and what to expect. If I’m supporting you as your doula, we’ll have two prenatal appointments to prepare for your birth together.

"We are beyond grateful for our incredible doula, Ally. From the moment she stepped into our journey, she brought a calm, comforting presence that grounded us through it all. Her support was nothing short of divine. She met us with grace, knowledge, and a strength that carried us through one of the most sacred experiences of our lives. Ally advocated for us, nurtured us, and reminded us to breathe through the beautiful chaos. It’s rare to meet someone who can make you feel seen, safe, and empowered all at once—but Ally did exactly that. Her intuition and warmth made her feel like family, and we genuinely can’t imagine our birth story without her in it." - Natalie

I can’t recommend Ally enough!!!!!!! She was my birth photographer, but she went FAR ABOVE and beyond just capturing the moments. My labor was abnormally long, & she never once left my side — her patience, encouragement, and calm presence meant so much to me!!!!! Even though she wasn’t officially my doula, her natural instincts to help & support me through the hardest parts of labor were incredible. She captured the most beautiful, raw moments of my daughter’s birth while also being a steady hand of comfort. I will FOREVER cherish both the photos and the way she supported me throughout my birth. Truly a blessing! - Madi

Ally was not only my Doula, but my Birth Photographer. She stuck with me for 13 hours advocating, supporting and encouraging me. She made me feel seen and safe when my birth plan took an unexpected detour. She noticed things I did not and spoke up about them as needed. She captured the true and raw moment of labor, while also capturing my husband and sister during this time. I’m so thankful she caught moments I wasn’t able to witness. She captured my husband praying for me between pushes, and then waiting for me in the hall as I was wheeling into the operating room. Without her I would not have had these moment to look back on, as I don’t have memory of a huge part of my labor. Ally felt like a lifetime friend while she stood by my side and being one of my support people. She puts her heart and soul into this job, and I wouldn’t have rather have any other support person by my side. - Lindsey
